H. Jared Doster focuses on intellectual property law. He is licensed as a patent attorney before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office. He has experience in patent and trade secret litigation and patent prosecution. He has worked on trademark and copyright cases, and TTAB cancellation proceedings. Technologies he has focused on include energy sector equipment, signal processing and semiconductors.
Mr. Doster came to AZA from Baker Botts. He has a law degree from Vanderbilt University Law School, and physics degrees from Michigan State University and Florida State University and a mathematics degree from Florida State University . He previously worked as a research assistant in nuclear physics at the National Superconducting Cyclotron and as an adjunct physics professor.
Utex Industries, Inc. v. Gardner Denver, Inc. (Southern District of Texas) – Represented plaintiff in claims of patent infringement, trade secret misappropriation, breach of contract, tortious interference with contract, and unfair competition. Litigation is ongoing.
Hybrid Audio, LLC v. DirecTV, LLC (Central District of California) – Represented defendant against patent infringement claim. Plaintiff dropped suit without compensation.
Scott Environmental Services, Inc. v. Waste Facilities, Inc. (Eastern District of Texas) – Represented third-party under subpoena by plaintiff for site inspection. Plaintiff threatened to sue client but settled instead.
Derrick Corporation v. Screen Logix (Western District of Louisiana) – Represented defendant against patent infringement claim. Case settled.
