Maha Husseini is a trial lawyer with experience handling cases from the initial complaint through resolution, including trial and settlement. Her preparation and advocacy have produced strong results for clients even before a case reaches verdict: in one nine-figure matter, Maha’s relentless trial preparation over the course of a month-long lead-up drove the opposing party to settle the day before trial was set to begin, resolving the case for less than a twentieth of the amount originally demanded.
Maha is currently a key member of the trial teams handling multiple complex commercial litigation matters, as well as personal injury matters, many of which involve large numbers of plaintiffs. Her commercial litigation experience includes representing an energy company in a high-stakes, complex commercial dispute involving significant contractual and financial disputes across multiple agreements, as well as representing a well-known consumer products client in a high-profile corporate governance dispute. Across her matters, Maha has developed substantial experience across all phases of litigation, from case strategy and inception through trial. She has managed all aspects of discovery, including drafting and responding to discovery requests and arguing discovery disputes in court, and has taken the depositions of key witnesses. Maha has conducted direct and cross examinations at trial, prepared and worked closely with expert witnesses, and led trial preparation efforts, including exhibit and witness preparation and jury selection. She has also drafted and argued numerous dispositive and other motions, and has led and participated in settlement negotiations and mediations on behalf of her clients.
Maha focuses on complex commercial and personal injury litigation. She has notable experience across a range of industries in: breach of contract, personal injury, defamation, employer liability arising from employee misconduct, constitutional claims, and employment matters. Maha has also spent extensive time living and working abroad, which helps her navigate international and cross-border business disputes.
Prior to joining AZA, Maha received her J.D. from Harvard Law School and her Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University, where she completed the Capstone Honors Program.
