Sammy Ford Honored by Houston Bar Association for CLE Work April 26, 2017
HOUSTON – AZA, or Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing, is pleased to announce that firm attorney Sammy Ford IV is receiving the President’s Award for Outstanding Service to the Houston Bar Association.
HBA President Neil Kelly is recognizing Mr. Ford for his work on the Continuing Legal Education Committee. The award will be presented at the HBA’s Annual Dinner meeting on May 18 at River Oaks Country Club. The CLE committee plans seminars, institutes, special programs, Lunch and Learn events, and Java with the Judges events for HBA members. The committee, along with HBA staff, maintains online CLE videos as well.
Mr. Ford, who joined AZA in March 2016, is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. His practice ranges from oil and gas cases to catastrophic personal injury cases to class actions and business torts.
He is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an elite group of the country’s leading judges and civil trial lawyers. Membership is by invitation only, with selection based on such factors as personal character, honorable reputation and a high degree of trial experience. Mr. Ford has tried more than 20 cases in the past five years alone, representing companies and individuals around the country in litigation involving business torts, securities, consumer class actions and catastrophic personal injury cases.
Mr. Ford has been selected five times to the Texas Rising Stars list in recognition of his personal injury litigation work. He also recently earned a place among Rising Stars’ Top 100 Up-and-Coming attorneys, a designation honoring the top young lawyers in any practice.
