HOUSTON – AZA, or Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing, is pleased to announce that firm attorney Sammy Ford IV has been elected to the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an elite group of the country’s leading judges and civil trial lawyers.

Joining firm founders Joe Ahmad and John Zavitsanos and partner Todd Mensing, Mr. Ford becomes the fourth ABOTA member from AZA.

“ABOTA’s membership includes some of the most respected attorneys in the country,” said Mr. Ford. “I am proud to be elected a member of such an accomplished group.”

Membership is by invitation only, with selection based on such factors as personal character, honorable reputation and a high degree of trial experience. Mr. Ford has tried more than 20 cases in the past five years alone, representing companies and individuals around the country in litigation involving business torts, securities, consumer class actions and catastrophic personal injury cases.

He is Board Certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction reserved for attorneys with the highest commitment to excellence and expertise in their chosen area of practice.

Mr. Ford has been selected five times to the Texas Rising Stars list in recognition of his personal injury litigation work. He also recently earned a place among Rising Stars’ Top 100 Up-and-Coming attorneys, a listing honoring the top young lawyers in any practice.
