AZA Partner Warren McCarty Named to IAM IP International List of IP Strategists 

DALLAS – AZA’s Dallas office managing partner Warren McCarty was named to an international list of 300 professionals known for implementing strategies to maximize the value of intellectual property portfolios. This is his second year to be honored. 

IAM Strategy 300: The World’s Leading IP Strategists 2026 is created by IAM IP, an international platform that provides tools and market analysis for businesses in the intellectual property sphere. The IAM Strategy 300 is a guide to those who innovatively create strategies that amplify the worth of IP properties. It is based on the recommendations of senior members of the global IP community, and it includes individuals from law firms, corporations, research institutions and universities. 

Mr. McCarty was cited for his expertise in legal licensing. A key member of AZA’s IP group, he has served as counsel in technology-related cases resulting in verdicts and settlements of more than $2.5 billion since 2015.  

In 2025, he served as co-lead counsel in the firm’s $78 million patent infringement verdict against Samsung involving automatic content recognition software. In 2024 alone, he tried and won three patent lawsuits as lead counsel or trial counsel, helping clients secure combined verdicts encompassing more than $93 million in unpaid royalties.  

He is currently lead counsel to international technology manufacturer Acer in three high-stakes patent infringement lawsuits against major U.S. wireless carriers AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile USA.
