Anonymous Media Research Holdings, LLC v. Samsung Electronics Co.
October 10, 2025

In September 2025, AZA won a $78,512,999 patent infringement verdict in the Eastern District of Texas on behalf of two inventors against tech titan Samsung.

AZA’s client, Anonymous Media Research, is owned by two inventors who developed a novel methods for improving automatic content recognition (ACR) to measure media consumption. The jury in Marshall, Texas agreed that Samsung had implemented this technology in over 50 million smart televisions here in the United States and then used the data to feed its targeted advertising business. After a five day trial, the jury awarded Anonymous Media Research every dollar it asked for in a unanimous verdict after fewer than three hours of deliberations.
