January 8, 2015

HOUSTON – AZA, or Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing, has earned selection to the Houston Business Journal’s 2014-2015 list of leading local law firms, ranking among the largest energy and intellectual property legal practices in Houston.

The lists in the just-released Houston Business Journal’s Book of Lists 2014-2015 are based on the number of energy and intellectual property lawyers working in Houston-area firms. The complete compilation is available for subscribers here:

AZA earned selection as Houston’s 16th largest energy firm and the eighth largest intellectual property firm. The firm has grown and added more lawyers since the list was completed.

AZA has represented some of the nation’s largest energy and oil and gas companies, including Plains All American Pipeline, National Oilwell Varco, Noble Energy Inc., CITGO and Apache Corp. The firm represents a number of high-profile companies in significant technology and intellectual property matters, including client Versata Software Inc.

“Energy and intellectual property litigation are two of our strongest and fastest-growing practice areas. The work can be challenging and exciting,” says AZA founding partner and oft-honored litigator John Zavitsanos.

Mr. Zavitsanos and AZA partner Todd Mensing were named among the top 100 leaders in the Houston Business Journal’s competitive Who’s Who in Energy rankings in 2014. Both have been listed among the city’s energy leaders for several years.
