AZA Co-Founders Honored as Best in Texas by Business Today 

HOUSTON – Joe Ahmad and John Zavitsanos, the co-founders of AZA, have been listed by the online news platform Business Today among the 10 best lawyers in Texas and Houston. 

Just this week, Mr. Zavitsanos was named to a remarkable list of 2023 Top 10 Trailblazing Commercial Litigation Lawyers in Houston, Texas. “Recognized for their exceptional work across industries such as energy, transportation, finance, and more, these litigators represent their clients with impeccable skill. Both as plaintiff and defendant attorneys, each one stands out for their specific method, strategy, and insight,” Business Today wrote.  

In addition to Mr. Zavitsanos, this distinguished group of legal experts includes R. Paul Yetter, Mary-Olga Lovett, Neal Manne, Paula Hinton, Jean C. Frizzell, Murray Fogler, Geoffrey Harrison, Patrick W Mizell and Winstol D. Carter Jr.  

The news magazine stated Mr. Zavitsanos “earns particular praise for his trial expertise managing high-stake litigation for a prestigious client base, including top energy companies. Not only is he incredibly effective on his feet, but he also utilizes the litigation process to his advantage.” 

Mr. Ahmad, whose practice includes executive employment issues, was earlier named to the Top 10 Influential Texas Labor & Employment Plaintiff Lawyers of 2023. 

The news organization called Mr. Ahmad an outstanding lawyer with a “strong respectable reputation.”  “Ahmad’s expertise in non-competition and trade secret disputes adds a unique factor to his capabilities in court,” it stated. 

Others on the list with Mr. Ahmad were Patrick Flynn, Ian Scharfman, Mark J. Oberti, Amy Gibson, Keith Clouse, Melissa Moore, Rogge Dunn, Gregg Rosenberg and John Wenke.
