Monica Moussighi focuses her practice on intellectual property matters including patents, trademark, and copyright. An engineer and a lawyer, she advises clients on complex commercial matters including in the technology, oil and gas, manufacturing, and financial sectors. She has performed a large volume of prior art searches and applied research to invalidating competitor patents, drafted invalidity opinions, drafted claim charts for patent infringement assertions and negotiated multimillion-dollar technology transactions.

Ms. Moussighi comes to AZA after working on intellectual property and commercial cases at several prestigious national law firms. She has been included on recent Texas Rising Stars lists, published by Thomson Reuters’ legal division, which is an exclusive listing of the state’s top lawyers who are age 40 or younger or who have been in practice no more than 10 years.

Before receiving her law degree from University of Houston Law Center, Ms. Moussighi was a material-evaluating engineer for an energy company in Houston. She evaluated materials for use on electrical distribution lines and investigated legal claims regarding materials used, participated in lawsuit resolution, and supplied engineering analysis. She has mediation certification training and a Texas Engineer-In-Training certificate.
