Louis Liao focuses on patent litigation and commercial litigation. He has experience in all phases of litigation, including depositions, dispositive motion practice, and appeals. As a technology enthusiast and former engineer, he understands a wide range of technical disciplines, from computer software to oilfield equipment.

During law school, Mr. Liao contributed to academic research on the patent system and was active on the Stanford Law and Policy Review. He also advised startup companies on marketing and product strategy as a dual degree student in the engineering school at Stanford.

Mr. Liao worked on oil and gas projects before law school at a Fortune 500 engineering company. He interned at a nuclear power plant during college and also has programming experience as a full stack web developer. He graduated with highest honors from The University of Texas at Austin, where he received degrees in mechanical engineering and philosophy.
