Angela is a trial lawyer with a practice that runs the gamut in commercial, intellectual property, employment, and data privacy disputes. Angela has tried cases to juries, judges, and arbitrators and understands the importance of knowing your audience. Recent cases include:
  • Defended an oil & gas company in a dispute over the reasonable value and rental rate for equipment. After a bench trial less than six months after the lawsuit was filed, the Court found her client’s rental rate to be reasonable and found the other side’s valuation model was not credible, allowing her client to purchase the equipment at a fair value.
  • Representing patients across the country in a series of novel class actions against hospitals that used web-based tracking technologies to share patient information with third parties.
  • Representing a Texas-based hospitality company in several trademark infringement and dilution disputes.
Angela graduated with honors from the University of Chicago Law School, where she was on the Editorial Board of the University of Chicago Law Review, co-president of the American Constitution Society, and the Board President of the Hinton Moot Court Competition. Angela also was 1 of 22 law students selected for the ACS Next Generation Leaders Program. Angela’s recent scholarship, Overdue Notice: Using Virtual Marking to Modernize Trademark Notice Requirements, was published in the Stanford Technology Law Review and was selected by Thomson-Reuters as one of the best intellectual property law articles of 2022-2023. Angela is a former AZA summer associate and worked remotely for AZA during law school, helping AZA’s clients secure wins at trial and on dispositive motions in the process.
Before law school, Angela received her bachelor’s degree in music and history at the University of Wisconsin. Angela is a classically trained soprano and was featured as a soloist at many University of Wisconsin events, including the grand opening of the Hamel Music Center. She also was the Director of Public Relations for the Badger Herald, where she wrote over 150 articles and interviewed artists from Sublime with Rome to Chappell Roan.
