AZA Lawyer Adam Milasincic Featured in Legal Magazine Cover Story March 10, 2016
HOUSTON – Trial attorney Adam Milasincic of Houston’s Ahmad, Zavitsanos, Anaipakos, Alavi & Mensing, or AZA, is the focus of a cover story published in the Super Lawyers Magazine’s Texas Rising Stars 2016 edition, which recognizes the top young attorneys in the state.
The magazine is published by Thomson Reuters legal division, which selects the state’s leading young lawyers through a rigorous review process, and the list also will appear in Texas Monthly.
In the cover story “From DJ to J.D.,” the magazine notes Mr. Milasincic’s prior roles as a reporter, campaign manager and disc jockey before he graduated from law school with the top score on the Texas Bar Exam. “Soft-spoken in person, Milasincic ‘has got a fire in his belly like you wouldn’t believe’ in the courtroom’,” AZA’s co-founding partner John Zavitsanos told the magazine.
Mr. Milasincic earned his second straight selection to the Texas Rising Stars list in 2016. The annual listing honors the best Texas lawyers under age 40 and those who have been in practice no longer than 10 years. Fewer than 2.5 percent of eligible Texas attorneys earn a spot on the list each year.
The article notes that Mr. Milasincic, 31, already has made a name for himself at AZA by suing and defending some of the largest corporations in Texas, including many in the energy sector. AZA partner Tim Shelby told the publication that Mr. Milasincic often develops novel legal approaches that greatly benefit AZA’s clients.
“He understands strategy and can boil down cases into easy-to-understand jury concepts. Both of these skills are very uncommon for an attorney who’s just five years out of law school. Some never get there,” the article quotes Mr. Shelby as saying.
Before joining AZA, Mr. Milasincic worked as a litigator at Baker Botts LLP. He earned his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served as an articles editor for the Virginia Law Review and earned the highest grades of any student in his first-year class. A Pennsylvania native, Mr. Milasincic started a newspaper for friends and family at age 10 before eventually earning a degree in journalism at Kent State University.
“It’s certainly an honor to be cited like this, and I appreciate this recognition of the great results we have recently received for our clients,” he said.
AZA, or Ahmad, Zavitsanos & Mensing, is a Houston-based law firm that is home to true courtroom lawyers with a formidable track record in complex commercial litigation, including energy, intellectual property and business dispute cases. National corporate counsel named AZA both one of the country’s best in client service and one of the most feared. Read more at https://azalaw.com.
